Our exceptional, friendly staff is our greatest asset. Our dental assistants and hygienists are licensed professionals who pride themselves on staying on the cutting edge of dentistry and patient communication. They are excited about what they are doing, have high standards of quality and integrity, and are motivated to achieve the best results for our family of patients.

Our dedicated and motivated staff has one primary goal—your utmost comfort! We feel it’s important that you understand the treatment that you’ll be receiving so that you can relax during the procedure. Our staff is eager to answer any questions regarding your dental care. Office manager:   Our office manager is Shae Jamail. Her job is to make sure that the office runs smoothly.  She handles most of the accounting for the office.  This includes filing insurance, keeping patient accounts in order, and discussing financial arrangements with our patients. She has worked at Westfield  for 15 years and is highly qualified to handle any problem that may occur.   She is always happy to assist you in any way she can. It is important for you, as the patient, to have the correct insurance information so that we can file your insurance correctly. We take all indemnity insurance and are providers for most PPO insurance groups.  We are not providers for many HMO insurance plans. She will do her best to give the patient as close an estimate to his/her  portion of the fee as she can, but the patient is ultimately responsible for the account. To help with the high cost of dental treatment, our office has several financing plans that are available.  Feel free to email her with any questions at shae@westfielddental.com.  

Front desk:  At the front desk,  either Traci Dodwell or Terry Wilson will greet you. Their job is to answer the phones, schedule appointments, and assist you in checking out at the end of your dental appointment.  They will be happy to help you in any way they can. Please note that most patients in our practice pre-appoint for their hygiene care and that the schedule is full for some months. We keep a current call list for those times when patients have to cancel, so that we can get new patients in. We generally can get new patient hygiene appointments in pretty quickly. We strive to get any emergency, new or established, patients in within 24 hours. Please call early so that we can find somewhere to work you in our schedule.

Hygienists: On our staff we have a team of five hygienists. Their names our Gail, Brenda, Amanda, Candace and Tracy. They have been practicing for many years and are all highly qualified.  Their biggest concerns are your comfort and general oral health. At your visits, they will clean your teeth, give instructions on how to better care for your teeth, recommend a length of time between cleanings, and take x-rays as neccesary. Exams will be given by the doctors once a year, or at your request.

Doctor's assistants:  We have two qualified dental assistants in our practice. Dr.'s Ashmore's assistant is Erika, and  Dr. Derr's assistant is Marie. Their function is to help the doctors perform whatever dental procedure they are doing, as well as make the patient as comfortable as possible during their visit. They are very skilled in what they do and will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Both assistants are very knowledgeable and will help you to understand any dental treatment being performed.
